Times table grid – worksheets to print

A small grid where times-table answers are filled in.

  • Choose the number of tasks and the difficulty yourself
  • With an answer sheet and, if you like, a QR code to the answers
  • At three levels (★ to ★★★) and as group A and B
  • As a single worksheet or as a task on a mixed worksheet
This is how it looks on the worksheet – with new numbers every time.

Times table grid: explained simply

Each box in the times-table grid belongs to a number on the left and a number at the top.

How to work it out

  • Multiply the row heading by the column heading.
  • A nearby fact can help: one more group means adding the corresponding factor once more.

An example, step by step

What belongs in row 4, column 6?

  1. Follow the row headed 4 and the column headed 6.
  2. At their intersection, write 4 · 6 = 24.
  3. Check with a familiar fact: 4 · 5 = 20; one more group of four makes 24.

Your turn

Row 7, column 3: what goes in the box?

Show the answer and method

7 · 3 = 21.
