The worksheets themselves are in German – just as in class. The editor is only available in German so far.
Maths worksheets for grade 3
17 worksheets and 41 types of task – adjust them for free and print, with an answer sheet if you like.
In grade 3 the numbers go up to a thousand. Many children learn column addition and subtraction here, calculating in steps, division with remainder, rounding, time spans and weights – along with cube buildings, reflection and area.
Which topics come when differs between the German states, schools and textbooks. The number range and the level can be set on every worksheet.

- Your own calculationsGrades 1 to 6Type in your own calculations, also with a gap – the Rechenkiste works out the answers.
- Making up numbersGrades 1 to 3Find the missing number up to the target, e.g. 7 + _ = 10 or 63 + _ = 100.
- Fact familiesGrades 1 to 3Three numbers make swapped and inverse calculations, e.g. 3 + 4 = 7 and 7 − 4 = 3.
- Calculation wheelsGrades 2 and 3A wheel with a number in the middle: each inner number is multiplied by it.
- Calculation chainsGrades 1 to 4Calculate step by step from a starting number.
- Number wallsGrades 1 to 4Two neighbouring bricks add up to the brick above them.
- Calculation trianglesGrades 1 to 4Two fields inside add up to the number on the edge.
- Times table gridGrades 2 and 3A small grid where times-table answers are filled in.
- Grid methodGrades 3 and 4Split big multiplications into tens and ones and work them out in a grid.
- Column + −Grades 3 to 6Plus and minus written in columns in squares, with carrying – also with decimals.
- Long × and ÷Grades 3 to 5Multiplying and dividing written in columns in squares – from grade 5 also with three-digit factors and two-digit divisors.
- Empty number lineGrades 2 and 3Calculating in jumps on an empty number line.
- Sets of calculationsGrades 1 to 4Calculations with a pattern: work them out, discover the pattern and write down what you notice – also continue a set or find the one that does not fit.
- Calculating in stepsGrades 2 to 4Calculate step by step: first the hundreds, then the tens, then the ones – with the answers in between.
- Mistake detectiveGrades 2 to 6Check other children's calculations: find typical mistakes – a forgotten carry, plus before times, a decimal comma as a separator –, say what went wrong and calculate it correctly.
- Methods of calculatingGrades 2 to 4Calculating in steps with a clever mind: compare and name other children's methods, fill in the steps in between and tick the methods that suit a calculation.
Understanding numbers
- ComparingGrades 1 to 4Compare numbers or calculations and fill in <, > or =.
- Neighbouring numbersGrades 1 to 3Find the number before and after, later the neighbouring tens.

- MoneyGrades 1 to 3Count coins and notes, pay the exact amount and work out the change.
- Lengths & weightsGrades 2 to 6Convert lengths, weights, capacities and, from grade 5, units of area, e.g. 1 m = 100 cm or 1 m² = 100 dm².
- CalendarGrades 2 and 3Questions about a monthly calendar: days of the week, dates, gaps between them.

Puzzles
- Magic squaresGrades 2 to 6Every row, every column and both diagonals add up to the same magic number – find the missing numbers.
- Number sudokuGrades 1 to 6Every number appears exactly once in each row, each column and each box – solvable step by step.
- Magic trianglesGrades 1 to 4Put the numbers 1 to 6 (or 1 to 9) in the circles so that every side has the same total.
- Symbol puzzlesGrades 1 to 4Each symbol stands for a number: the first row gives the first number, and that leads to the next.
